Provence - Camargue and Les Alpilles

Two short trips to the Provence area in mid-winter to attempt some better images of Wallcreeper at Les Baux along with the usual Alpine Accentors and whatever might be on offer in the Camargue following short trips in February 2004 and 2005 that involved some digi-scoping and a few images with the old 100-400 and the Canon 20D; the poor Spotted Eagle images are from the early trips. In addition to the Wallcreepers there were good photo opportunities with wintering Black-necked Grebes and the resident Greater Flamingos and Slender-billed Gulls, Cattle and Great White Egrets and a nice wintering flock of Richard’s Pipits on La Crau where the Little Bustards and Pin-tailed Sandgrouse were rather less co-operative.
