Juvenile White-billed Diver Gavia adamsii on the River Witham, Lincolnshire, January 2017

This stunning juvenile White-billed Diver was found on the River Witham between Woodall and Stixwold in January 2017. An exceptional inland record it was all the more amazing in that the first live county record, an adult, frequented the same River a bit further downstream in February - March 1996. This juvenile was only the third county record and the first was just a tideline corpse.
